PRESENTATION COACHING
Speak and be heard
If you would like to refine your speaking style, increase your personal impact, or address any concerns you may have about your communication skills, I can help you to become a clearer, more confident communicator.
As a presentation coach with a background in speech therapy, theatre, singing and writing, I have a keen ear for spoken language, respect for the power of words and a love of shaping them. I listen on many levels to what my clients are saying, and how they’re saying it.
What are your speaking goals?
Your speaking goals might be:
Preparing for a job talk
Doing an elevator pitch
Teaching
Speaking at a conference
Readying yourself for interviews
Leading meetings
Motivating staff
Having difficult conversations
Delivering a toast at a wedding
Whatever your goals are, sessions will identify the areas you need to focus on, from the micro level (pronunciation, vocal projection) to the macro level (how to shape a compelling presentation), or any point in between.
My sessions can help you ‘say what you mean, and mean what you say.’
I will provide honest and constructive feedback, along with practical tips to help you ‘find your voice.’
My experience
I have extensive experience coaching in academic settings such as the University of Toronto and the University of Cambridge where I support professors and administrators, MBA students, PhD candidates and Postdocs.
In the private sector, I have served a wide range of professional clients including investment managers, architects, IT engineers and executive search firm consultants.
“From my very first interaction with Paula, I was struck by her friendliness, charm, and great passion and knowledge of her field.
I've used her help to hone my skills in academic presentation (both virtual and in-person at conferences), audience engagement, job interviews, one-to-one meetings, and graduate-level teaching.
I'm now a tenure-track assistant professor and Paula has played a major role in my professional progress.”
